It was another great day of racing. Although the water was a little choppy, it didn’t stop some outstanding performances. It was most pleasing to see crews combined with juniors, seniors and masters race competitively. There were no bigger smiles than Oliver, Stiffy, Callum and Hobbit after they powered away from the field and won convincingly in MD 4X.
Here’s some other noteworthy observations:
- Great win by Abbey, Ellyn, Lisa and the effervescent Sue Robbo in WC 4X
- Callum and Oliver for their second place in MD 1X divisions
- Another win for Andrea, Krys, Abbey, Ellyn & Lilly in WC 4+
- A special 6th in WD 1X for Linda, first time we’ve seen someone stop and wave to her supporters!
- Eamonn and Aidan for their 3rd place in MA/B 1X divisions
- Callum and Zac winning MC 2X
- A victory snatched from Sydney on the line in MC 4+ by Alan, Ironsie, Airton, Hobbit & Lilly
- A great 3rd in Ellyn’s first pair race with Wendy
- A great second for Zac, Ironsie, Lachlan and Glenn in MD 4X, beaten on the line for the second time in 2 regattas – there’s still Drummoyne!
- Lilly and Amelia for their 3rd in WN 2X
- 2nd in WA/B 4X for Krys, Andrea, Sue & Wendy
- MC 2- win for the Captain and Fireman
- Great wins for Hobbit & Ironsie and Glenn & Sergey in MD 2X (just pipping Oliver & Lachlan, strong 2nd boys)
- Places for all 4 quads in WD 4X
- Thanks Toni and Maria, for helping out after late withdrawals
- First up win for Lilly in WD 4X, tremendous effort Featherstone girls and Jo (what did you eat/drink in Hawaii to recharge so much?)
- Solid win in rough conditions for Aidan, Eamonn, Callum and Zac in MA/B 4X
- EVERY competitor earned points for us!
- It was tremendous to see so many relatives supporting our rowers and the turnout at boat unloading was outstanding – a big thank you!!
